Cancellation Policy — EGBookings
At EGBookings, we understand that travel plans change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be transparent and fair while keeping the platform reliable for both riders and service providers.
1. Quick Ride / Single Trip / Ambulance — Instant Rides
Quick Ride and Ambulance bookings are paid up front via Razorpay before driver matching. The refund rules are:

Refunds for instant rides are issued via Razorpay to the original payment method. The bank typically reflects them within 5–10 business days.
2. Group Bookings — Long-term Rentals
For group / event / scheduled vehicle rentals, the cancellation deduction depends on how many days before the booked start date the cancellation is made:

Important: the deduction is calculated on the amount actually paid — if you have not yet made any payment, no deduction applies and your booking is simply cancelled at no charge.
3. Refund Processing
- Refunds are credited to the original payment method via Razorpay.
- Processing time is typically 5 to 10 business days, subject to your bank.
- Payment-gateway fees, where applicable, are non-refundable.
4. No-Show Policy
- If a rider does not arrive at the pickup location and does not cancel, the booking is treated as a no-show.
- For instant rides this means the trip is marked complete by the driver and no refund applies.
- For group bookings, the same-day deduction applies.
5. Cancellation by EGBookings or the Service Provider
If we have to cancel a booking due to operational reasons (e.g. vehicle unavailability, no driver matched, safety concerns):
- You will be informed promptly via in-app notification and email.
- A full refund will be issued.
- Where possible we will suggest alternative arrangements.
6. Booking Modifications
- Changes to date, time, route, or vehicle type are subject to availability.
- Modifications may result in price changes.
- Significant modification requests may be treated as a cancellation followed by a new booking, in which case the cancellation deduction above applies.
7. Auto-Cancellation of Unpaid Bookings
- If a group booking is not fully paid when the booked trip is within 2 days, the system may auto-cancel it and release the vehicle to other riders.
- Quick Ride / Ambulance bookings must be paid before driver search begins. If the up-front payment is not completed, no booking is created.
8. Special Conditions for Events and Group Bookings
- Event and group transportation involves advance vendor commitments — cancellation rules above are strictly applied.
- Confirm details carefully before booking.
9. Policy Enforcement
- Cancellation timing is calculated based on the scheduled trip start date / time.
- Misuse, abuse of the policy, or repeated cancellations may lead to account restrictions under our Terms and Conditions.
