EGBookings (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the EGBookings Rider and EGBookings Driver mobile applications and the website https://egbookings.in (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our Service.

By using EGBookings, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide

When you register and use EGBookings, we collect:

Personal Identification

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Date of birth (drivers only)
• Profile photo

Driver Verification Documents — uploaded by drivers during onboarding and stored securely until account deletion:

• Driving licence (image + details)
• Vehicle registration certificate
• Vehicle insurance certificate
• Aadhaar identity proof (image + number)
• PAN card (image + number)
• Vehicle fitness certificate
• Bank account details (for payouts only)

Address Information

• Saved pickup and drop addresses (riders, optional)
• Service area (drivers)

b. Information Collected Automatically

Location Data

• We collect precise location (GPS) when the app is in use to match riders with nearby drivers and navigate trips.
• The driver’s real-time location is shared with the assigned rider during an active trip.
• The rider’s pickup and drop-off coordinates are shared with the assigned driver.
• Background location is not collected. Tracking ends when the trip ends.

Device Information

• Device ID and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token
• Operating system and version
• App version and device model

Usage Data

• Trip history (pickup, drop, fare, duration)
• Ratings given and received
• In-app actions and interactions
• Wallet transactions

c. Payment Information

When you make a payment, our payment processor (Razorpay) collects your payment details directly. EGBookings does not store full card numbers, CVV, or banking credentials. For drivers, bank account details are stored encrypted only for processing payouts.

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only in these cases:

a. With Other Users (during an active trip)

• Riders see: the assigned driver’s first and last name, profile photo, vehicle make/model, registration number, vehicle colour, rating, driver mobile number (so the rider can reach the driver during the trip), and live GPS location.
• Drivers see: the rider’s first name, mobile number, pickup address, and drop address.
• Personal contact details and live location stop being shared once the trip is completed or cancelled.

b. With Service Providers

• Razorpay — payment processing
• Firebase (Google) — push notifications, real-time messaging, analytics
• Google Maps — navigation and location services
• Kit19 — OTP SMS delivery

c. For Legal Reasons

We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect user safety.

d. Business Transfers

If EGBookings undergoes merger or acquisition, user data may transfer to the new entity, subject to this policy.

• Encryption in transit: HTTPS (TLS 1.2+)
• Sensitive data (e.g. driver bank details) encrypted at rest
• Authentication via short-lived JWT and OAuth tokens
• Access controls: only authorised personnel can view personally identifiable data
• Periodic security reviews

No internet transmission method is 100% secure.

After deletion, anonymised aggregates may be retained for analytics and legal compliance.

7. Account Deletion

Option 1: Delete from the App

1. Open the EGBookings app
2. Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account
3. Confirm with your password

Option 2: Delete by Email

Send an email to info@egbookings.in with subject “Account Deletion Request”, including your registered mobile number, registered email address, and account type (Rider / Driver). Requests are processed within 7 business days.

What gets deleted: profile, saved addresses, driver documents, bank details, app preferences, push tokens.

What may be retained (anonymised): trip records (3 years for tax compliance), payment transactions (7 years per Income Tax Act), aggregated analytics.

8. Instant Rides — Prepayment and Auto-Refund

For Quick Ride and Ambulance bookings, payment is collected up front (via Razorpay) before we begin searching for a driver. If no driver accepts your ride within three search rounds, the booking is automatically cancelled and the full amount is refunded to your original payment method via Razorpay. We retain the corresponding transaction record for tax purposes only.

9. Children’s Privacy

EGBookings is not intended for users under 18 years of age. Accounts discovered to belong to minors will be removed and associated data deleted.

10. Location Data

You may revoke location permission anytime via your device settings; without it, the app cannot match rides.

11. Push Notifications

We send notifications for: new ride requests (drivers), trip status updates, payment confirmations, account/security alerts, and (with consent) promotional offers. Notifications can be disabled in your device settings.

Our website may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices — please review their policies separately.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy and notify users via email, in-app notification, or website notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
